Walk My Way!
I'm look for people to help me research and develop a new walk trail from "The Cut" at Dawesville to Bunbury.
The walk will take the hiker along the numerous lakes that run parallel to the coast. These include Lake Clifton, Lake Pollard, Martins Tank Lake and Lake Preston. Other points of interest such as The Stromolites at Lake Clifton, the townships of Preston Beach, Myalup and Binningup. The Leschenault Inlet will also add interest to the hike.

I hope to be able to integrate the beach and coastal system into the walk trail.
The walk will utilise existing camping grounds such as Martins Tank, caravan parks and/or accommodation at Preston Beach, Myalup, Binningup and Australind as well as a couple of impromtu camping sites along the route (yet to be discovered).
There will be plenty of access points along the entire route, so walkers will be able to undertake sectional walks. Early indications is that the walk will be in the 90 -110km range. This would equate to around 5-7 days.
I have purchased 1:100,000 maps and plotted a rough route. I now need to walk these sections on foot and determine if the walk will be interesting, enjoyable and importantly possible! I need to check out access point and accommodation options and to document these.
I want to be able to take GPS readings and compile a detailed journal of notes so that a walk guide can be published in the future. Of course, photos are essential. This will not only provide visual support of my walk but I hope to be able to generate interest in support of this project by creating a web album showing the "creation" of the walk over the next months or years.
I would welcome people to join me and help walk some sections and in essence provide some input into the creation of the trail. It is realistic to expect that the "best route" will involve several attempts of the same sections but using different routes.
